During his first battle at Loum, Char was able to destroy five Federation Salamis-class ships on his own. He was given the title of "Red Comet" for his fast movements and his red colored Zaku II. Char's true intentions were to kill all the Zabi family members for killing his father the original Zeon leader, Zeon Zum Deikun.  Char had been following the White Base crew throughout the One Year War, U.C. 0079. He met with Amuro several times and engaged in many of the most epic battles in Mobile Suit warfare history.  During the One Year War, Char used plenty of Mobile Suits, only 1 was not colored Red. The MS's he used were (in this order): Zaku II, Z'Gok, Gelgoog, and the Zeong. In the novels, he also use a red Rick Dom. After the War between the Zeon and the Federation, Char joined the AEUG, under the name Quattro Bajeena, to help them liberate the oppressed colonies from the hands of the Titans. In the AEUG he was an instructor, commander, and later leader of the AEUG after the assassination of the former leader. His mobile suits during his time as Lieutenant Quattro was the psuedo Gundam, Hyaku Shiki, and before that, the Rick Dias (painted red).  Char then returns to the Republic of Zeon, now called Neo Zeon, to take his father's place and finish what his father had started. There he encounters several Titan soldiers harassing the fellow citizens. After a scuffle with a Titans officer Jerid Messa, Kamille is detained by them at their base. During an Anti-Earth Union Group raid to steal the new prototype Gundam Mk-II mobile suits, he escapes and helps the AEUG steal all the Gundam Mk II units which was designed by his parents along with other researchers for the Titans. Then, after watching his mother (killed by Jerrid unknowingly) and father deaths caused by the Titans, Kamille promises to himself to destroy the Federation and the Titans.  Kamille tends to be brash, thoughtless, somewhat self-important, and prone to acting on his own judgement, in addition to being arrogant in his own right. This leads to him getting more than his fair share of abuse, both mental and physical various times. Later under the tutelage of AEUG officer Quattro Bajeena and former Titans officer Emma Sheen, along with coming in contact with Amuro Ray Kamille becomes one of AEUG's top pilots while maintaining his civilian status - first in his stolen Gundam Mk II and later in his personally designed MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.  During the course of the series, Kamille witnessed the deaths of his parent, lovers, friends and acquaintances. As such, though a generally nice person, he tends to act on his emotions and personal judgement rather than logic. This has placed him in deep rivalries with men like Jerid Messa and Paptimus Scirocco.

Fraw is another of Amuro's best friends. She lives with her parents and she also likes to take care of people in need. After losing her parents in Side 7's attack, Frau retreats to the White Base with a group of kids (Katz, Letz, and Kikka). She then becomes some what of a surrogate mother to the kids since they lost their parents.

Premiers in Episode # 24 of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam:  Yazan Gable is a Titan pilot distinguished by his superb fighting skills and sheer aggression. Yazan joins the crew of the Titan cruiser Alexandria around the time of the attack on Von Braun City and becomes the ship's resident ace pilot, eclipsing the hapless Jerid Messa. Brutal and Bloodthirsty, he lives for the thrill of the hunt, and despises cautious commanders who try to spoil his fun. He's later joined by a pair of equally cunning and sadistic wingmen, Ensigns Dunkel Cooper and Ramsus Hasa.(source Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Viewer's Guide - by Mark Simmons of Ultimatemark.com available in the U.S. limited edition thin-pack dvd collection)  Viewed by many as the best non-newtype pilot in the Universal Century, Yazan gained fame through skill and power. Kamille Bidan had to use his newtype abilities to defeat him. He killed more AEUG members than any other Titan pilot. Also one of only a few Titan survivors at the end of the GRYPS conflict.

A member of the Earth-based anti-Titans group, Karaba, who joins up with the Audhumla while en route to Hong Kong City. Upon meeting Amuro Ray, Beltorchika takes an immediate interest and latches onto him, much to the chagrin of her comrades, especially Kamille. Beltorchika later plays a crucial role in the Battle of Dakar. At one point, the Titans try to stop this speech regardless of the safety of the people at the summit, including their own supporters. Beltorchika captures this on video, revealing the Titans' brutality to the whole world. After the battle, Beltorchika and Kamille engage in their friendliest conversation yet. She is last seen manning a gun turret on the Audhumla as Kamille and Char make their way back into space.  Beltorchika and Amuro appear to be on the brink of a serious relationship, but he is later seen with someone else named Chan Agi in Char's Counterattack. No explanation as to what might have happened between him and Beltorchika is provided in the film. However, Yoshiyuki Tomino penned a novelized version of the film titled Beltorchika's Children. In this, Beltorchika acts in the same role that Chan does; however, in the book, she is pregnant with Amuro's child and survives the events of the novel. The leader of the renegade Zeons who took refuge at the asteroid base Axis. As the daughter of the admiral who led the exodus to Axis, Haman took over her late father's role, and at age sixteen found herself in charge of this community of dispirited Zeon exiles. Despite her youth, Haman's charisma, guile, and remarkable Newtype abilities enabled her to rally the Axis refugees for their triumphant return to the Earth Sphere. While nominally just a regent to the child heir Mineva Zabi, Haman is in truth the unchallenged master of the Axis forces, who seeks to restore the Zabi dynasty in order to seize power for herself.   It is important to note however that Haman was not always the way she was in Zeta Gundam and Gundam ZZ. The manga Char's Deleted Affair and its mini prequel Haman's Deleted Affair, reveal that Haman had a sweet disposition as a young teenager. The latter manga reveals that Haman grew up in Axis after the One Year War, never having seen the Earth, and had to endure a hard life growing up as Axis was not well suited to support life, and it was not any better with the looming threat of the Federation possibly attacking them. The former manga also shows she was a romantic of sorts, as she became romantically involved with Zeon's Red Comet, Char Aznable. Though CDA also reaffirms what was said in HDA, as Haman had to train to be a soldier and possibly felt obligated to protect the people on Axis, viewing their treatment by the Federation as unjust. Thus Haman's personality in the anime is a result of her troubled upbringing, never having had the chance to be a child and enjoy life, Haman became dark, cold, and isolated from the rest of the world, which she states in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, is what made her stronger and is her strength. During the One Year War, Katz was one of the orphan kids that lived in the White Base. He was a little child then but by the time of the war between the Titans and the AEUG Katz is the newly adobpted son of Hayato and Fraw Kobayashi. He becomes an AEUG soldier and follow's under Char's orders. He's not truly experienced with War and tends to become punished for many of his actions.

It is Universal Century 0087, and the One Year War between the Earth Federation and Principality of Zeon is over. The Earth Federation has created an elite task force, known as the Titans, who are responsible for hunting the remaining Zeon forces. However, the power-hungry Titans have shown themselves to be no better than Zeon, spurring the creation of a rebellious faction called the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG).
17-year-old Kamille Bidan lives in the colony Green Noa, home to a Titan base. Kamille gets in trouble after assaulting a Titan officer, an event that coincides with an attack led by former Zeon ace Char Aznable, now known as AEUG pilot Quattro Bajeena. When Kamille steals a Titan's prototype Gundam, he soon finds himself in the middle of the dangerous conflict.
