Pokemon Best Wishes! Season 2: Shinsoku no Genosect - Mewtwo Kakusei

The 16th Pokemon movie and the 3rd "Best Wishes!" movie.

Dent is one of the three gym leaders of Striaton City. He is the brother of Pod and Corn, his fellow gym leaders. He is recognized as an A-rank Pokemon Sommelier, a person who has the ability to check the compatibility and closeness between a trainer and his/her Pokemon. After being defeated by Ash in a gym battle he decided to join Ash through his journey in the Unova Region. He is the group's navigator and cook.  Dent has a love for playing detective and trains. He enjoys solving mysteries with scientific explanations, and he is a huge fan of Nimbasa City's subway system. He dislikes the Pokemon Purrloin, saying he had a bad experience with one in the past, but refuses to talk about it.  Dent's vintage Pokemon is his Pansage. He has also acquired a Dwebble, which has evolved into a Crustle, and a Stunfisk while traveling.

Dent

Iris is the female protagonist in Pokemon Best Wishes. Her main Pokémon is Axew, a Dragon-type. She also has an Excadrill that has been with her since it was a Drilbur, and an Emolga.  She is a citizen of the Dragon Village who has been tasked by the village's elder to go on a journey with her Axew to raise it to become a great Haxorus. After meeting up with Ash, she decides to join him on his journey.  In Pokémon White for the Nintendo DS, Iris is the 8th Gym Leader of the Unova Region. Her mentor is an old man named Drayden, specialized in Dragon-type Pokémon. He is the 8th Gym Leader in Pokémon Black. Two years later, in Pokémon Black and White 2, she becomes the Champion.

Iris

Height: 6'07'' (2m)  Weight: 269.0 lbs (122.0kg)  Mewtwo (ãƒŸãƒ¥ã‚¦ãƒ„ãƒ¼), known as the "Genetic" species of Pokémon, is a Pokémon cloned from Mew that exists quietly in an undiscovered cave. It was created by scientists through genetic manipulation of Mew's DNA involving repeated recombination, gene splicing, and other DNA experiments over many years. While its DNA is mostly similar to the original Mew DNA, Mewtwo is very different in both its body size and personality. Its creators did not imbue him with compassion, making it one of the most savage Pokémon, able to strike fear into its enemies with its cold, glowing eyes. Being made for battle, its combat abilities and psychic powers were developed to be of the highest level, and it always thinks of defeating its opponents. In order to always fight at full power, it remains motionless to conserve energy.  In the events of the Pokémon: The First Movie, Mewtwo awakens, destroys the laboratory where it is created and being kept, and works under Giovanni, who had originally ordered Mewtwo's creation, until realizing it is just being used. After escaping, it tries to destroy the humans that 'enslave' Pokémon and start a new world. During Pokémon: Mewtwo Returns, it seeks complete solitude and chooses to live without fighting. Giovanni tries to recapture Mewtwo, but it is ultimately saved by Ash. Mewtwo chooses not to confine himself to the world and roams the earth. In the "Mastermind of the Mirage Pokémon" a mirage copy of Mewtwo is seen furiously battling Ash and its friends.  (Source: Wikipedia)  In Pokémon special, Mewtwo was created by Blaine based on Mew's DNA with some human cells from himself, during which an accident occurred and some of Mewtwo's cells backflowed into his arm, which responds every time Mewtwo uses its power, making it unable to fight for more than 3 minutes. During the RGB series, Mewtwo made its first appearance in Team Rocket's laboratory under the Celadon Game Corner.  Later in the series, it escaped from the lab and hid near Cerulean Cave, where it was later captured by Blaine's Master Ball with Red's help.  During the Yellow series, it was seen in Blaine's lab on Cinnabar island. Later, it was used by him against Lance where he attempted to destroy his pokéballs, which failed when Lance revealed that all of his pokémon were outside all along.  In the GSC series, using Entei's flame, Blaine was finally released from the cells, and at the same time, Mewtwo left Cinnabar island.  In the FRLG series, Mewtwo returned to fight alongside Red, being able to talk to him using telepathy.

Mewtwo

Pikachu is an Electric Type mouse Pokemon given to Satoshi (Ash in the English version) as a last choice since he was late getting to Professor Oak's lab the day he was to be given his first Pokemon. At first Pikachu avoided Satoshi, shocking him every time he had a chance. He soon warms up to Satoshi after he saves him from wild Spearows. These two soon grow a bond stronger than any others. Pikachu does not like to be kept inside his Pokeball, and is usually seen riding on Satoshi/Ash's shoulder as they travel together.

Pikachu

Ash Ketchum, known as Satoshi in Japan, is a fictional character and protagonist of the anime Pokémon. There are also incarnations of him in the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga, the Pocket Monsters Zensho manga, and the Ash &amp; Pikachu manga. He is loosely based on the male protagonist of the Pokémon Red and Blue. The family name "Ketchum" is a pun of the anime's former tagline and slogan "Gotta catch 'em all!".  At the beginning of the series, Ash was 10 years old, and later, in the episode "The Battle Of The Badge", Ash said that it was a whole year since he and Pikachu had visited Viridian City, making him 11. Furthermore, in the short called "Pikachu &amp; Pichu" which was attached to Pokémon 3: The Movie, he said the day when the events depicted in the short took place was the day he met Pikachu, meaning his age at that time would be at least 12. However, two seasons later, the official Japanese Pokémon website reported that Ash was the same age as May, who was 10 years old at the time. This and the fact that the two are at the same height suggests that none of the characters have aged since the show began, placing the Pokemon anime in a floating timeline.  Ash is a caring and valiant trainer but he can be confident to the point of arrogance and is known for being stubborn at times. He also has quite the reckless streak, which has led him to troublesome situations and even near death. But when in a Pokémon battle, he is highly competitive, and he shows tremendous presence of mind, taking advantage of the battlefield as well the nature of his and the enemy Pokémon's moves to claim victory after victory, though he has been known to lose from time to time.  Ash has matured greatly over the course of the series, and has considerably improved his abilities as a trainer, but his earnestness and determination remain the same. During the first season of the series, Ash trained to catch more Pokémon than his childhood rival, Gary Oak, although Gary has caught more. He soon begins to focus more on each of his Pokémon's abilities. He also impresses many trainers by winning battles in which his Pokémon has a type disadvantage. At the Johto League Silver Conference Ash finally won a battle against Gary.  Throughout the anime, Ash has met a number of rivals, including Richie, whom he faced in the Indigo League, and Casey, a diehard Electabuzz fanatic. During Pokémon tournaments, Ash has made rivals out of Harrison, Jackson, Morrison, and Tyson (the last of which went on to become the champion of the Hoenn Pokémon league). Near the beginning of Pokémon: Diamond &amp; Pearl, Ash meets an arrogant young trainer named Paul, who quickly becomes his new rival.  Ash's primary nemesis is a group of comical antagonists named Team Rocket. Ever since the second episode, "Pokémon Emergency!", two Team Rocket operatives named Jessie and James, along with a talking Meowth, have always tried to steal his first Pokémon Pikachu but have always failed. There are some occasions when they work together like the Pokémon: The Movie 2000.  Ash's mother is Delia Ketchum (Hanako in Japan). She is a caring and thoughtful woman, though occasionally oblivious as her son, and in the English version of the anime often pesters him to change his boxer shorts every day, a gag throughout the early episodes of the first few series.  The identity of his father has remained unknown. One reference to him exists in the anime. During a phone conversation between Ash and his mother in the second episode, she states to her amazement that he got from Pallet Town to Viridian City in one day. "It took your father four days to get there when he started Pokémon training", she says, "He'll be so proud!". A line from the play, Pokémon Live!, suggests that Delia, at one time, had a relationship with the leader of Team Rocket, Giovanni when she was a teenager, but in the anime, no evidence of Giovanni being Ash's father has been shown currently.  In the episode "Showdown at Dark City," Ash went by the name of Tom Ato (tomato) after spotting some ketchup that Pikachu was eating. He had to disguise his name, so that his real name would not get a bad reputation, since he was dealing with the rivaling Yas and Kas gyms.

Satoshi

Kojirou is the male member of Team Rocket, the evil trio that follows Satoshi around to steal his Pokemon.  Several times he's shown to have more of a conscience and the desire to be a good guy: in We're No Angels he seriously wanted the team to remain in a village where they were thought to be heroes. Contrary to Musashi, Kojirou is known to occasionally show morals, integrity and compassion and is shown to be quite kind to his Pokémon. Kojirou has also appeared to be more tactical in battles than his teammate Musashi.  Kojirou has a beloved bottle cap collection and had extremely wealthy parents, who are portrayed in the English dub as Southern aristocrats (despite this, he has no Southern accent). He lived a very spoiled and sheltered life, knowing very little about the world outside his home, but also suffered heavy restrictions and rules. He grew up disliking carnivals due to being driven past them unable to attend, and was left distraught when he was unable to get a Chimecho (a Pokemon he calls his "first love") as a result.   He finally ran away from home after his parents tried to marry him off to a girl named Rumiko, ironically almost identical in appearance to Musashi. His dislike of the many upper-class rules led him to believe that living a life struggling on the streets was better than a life where everything was given, which eventually led him to joining Team Rocket.  Although the team often appears in disguise, a common source of fan humor is Kojirou's habit of cross dressing or wearing women’s clothes (to contrast with Musashi), makeup, and a history with violent, domineering women. It was this that led to the initial banning (the episode has aired after being severely edited) of the episode "Beauty and the Beach", that had Kojirou wearing fake breasts in order to win a bikini competition. In the original Japanese, Kojiro’s effeminate tendencies are played up as a contrast to his smooth, baritone voice; while the English dub originally took this tack, Kojirou's voice has become progressively high-pitched and clownish as time has gone on.  The episode "Holy Matrimony" in which Kojirou returns home has a scene in which he goes to a cellar, only to be met by Rumiko dressed as a dominatrix, much to Kojirou's terror. The cellar is equipped as a full S&amp;M dungeon which Meowth refers to as "weird gym equipment" in the dub.  The episode "That's Just Swellow" revealed that, at some point during his childhood, he was trained to be a Pokeringer champion by a former master, and is still extremely competent at it (reaching the final round in that episode before losing to Satoshi). He also has won a Pokemon Orienteering competition with his Mime Jr.  Kojirou carries a rose wherever he goes, and is occasionally shown holding it when Team Rocket recites the motto, but usually only when they are introduced to somebody new.

Kojirou

Musashi (Jessie) is one of the three members of Team Rocket. Her two other teammates are Kojiro (James) and Meowth.   Jessie made her debut in the anime in Pokémon Emergency. Alongside James and Meowth, they set their sights on the injured Pokémon in the Viridian Pokémon Center. Sending out their Ekans and Koffing from their Meowth balloon, they quickly overtook the Pokémon Center, which only had three people inside. Before they could steal any of the Pokémon, however, Ash's Pikachu, who teamed up with many other Pikachu in the Pokémon Center, used an electric attack, causing the entire Pokémon Center to explode. It was here that Team Rocket decided to capture Pikachu, deeming him as an exceptionally powerful Pokémon, and made it their goal to capture him.   Jessie's mother, Miyamoto, was a high-ranking Team Rocket agent. When Jessie was around the age of five, Miyamoto left on a mission to the Andes to record the voice of the elusive Pokémon Mew. However, after Miyamoto disappeared, Jessie was put into a foster home which had very little money. There were times when she had no choice but to eat snow because of a lack of food.   When she was old enough, she left home to become a Pokémon nurse. However, she was unable to go to a regular nursing school and went to the Pokémon Nurse School, which was intended for Chansey. She was quite skilled at things such as bandaging, and even showed a Chansey how to do it, which she quickly became good friends with. However, because she was not a Chansey, Jessie couldn't do things like use Sing to soothe Pokémon, instead falling asleep herself. Ultimately she failed to graduate, and on graduation day she simply packed a bag and left. As she was leaving, Chansey came up to her and offered her her nurses' hat, but Jessie refused to take it. Chansey then broke her egg-shaped pendant she got as proof of graduating in half and gave one half to Jessie so that they would have something to remember each other by. In the episode Ignorance is Blissey, Jessie was reunited with that same Chansey, which had since evolved into a Blissey.   It is assumed that she then enrolled in Pokémon Tech, a Trainers' school, where she met James, and subsequently failed and dropped out. After this, as revealed in The Bridge Bike Gang, Jessie and James joined a bicycle gang in Sunnytown, where Jessie was known for swinging a chain above her head as she rode her bike, acquiring the nicknames "Big Jess" and "Chainer Jessie".  Sometime before joining Team Rocket, and it is not known when, Jessie obtained a Contest Pass in the Hoenn region. Also during the years before Team Rocket, she had several boyfriends, all of whom left her and/or treated her badly. In Xatu the Future, she revealed that she had once worked at a TV station as the weathergirl. In From Cradle to Save, it was revealed that she once was a ninja.   Due to conflicts in canon between Kanto and Johto episodes and the special episode Training Daze, what happened between Jessie and James after the bike gang is unknown. What is known, as shown in the special episode, is that they joined Team Rocket separately and were on initially unfriendly terms after being grouped with Meowth but they quickly made up and became good friends.   Starting in Hoenn, Jessie became a Pokémon Coordinator, entering every Contest that she could. She frequently made it to the battle round, but usually lost there. However, in Borrowing on Bad Faith!, she finally succeeded in winning an (unofficial) Contest by using Ash's Aipom, which she had saved earlier in the episode. And, in Team Shocker!, she won an official Contest with her Dustox at Solaceon Town. Later in Shield with a Twist!, she won a Ribbon with help of her Yanmega. She has Contest Passes to compete in the Hoenn, Kanto, and Sinnoh regions.  In the Kanto Contests, Jessie disguised herself as Jessebella (Japanese: ãƒ ã‚µã�´ã‚‡ã‚“ Musa-pyon) wearing a red dress and glasses. Eventually, Ash, Brock, Max and May found out her true identity in the last Contest.   Although Jessie entered mostly every Contest in Hoenn and Kanto, she lost in all of them, whether it was the first match of the Battle Rounds or the finals. However, in the Sinnoh region, she won three Ribbons herself using her Dustox, Yanmega and Seviper, and obtained a Ribbon after James won a Contest in her place, as well as receiving one from Princess Salvia after she lost to her. Jessie was then eligible to participate in the Sinnoh Grand Festival, and made it to the semi-finals, losing to Dawn. After her loss to Dawn, Jessie got furious as her dream of becoming Top Coordinator was destroyed, but regardless, she told Dawn that since she beat her, she wouldn't forgive her if Dawn didn't end up as Top Coordinator for as long as she lived, thus showing that Jessie was rooting for Dawn, despite the two being enemies. When Dawn then lost in the finals to Zoey, Jessie was furious and decided she was through with contests. She then discarded her Jessilina costume before storming away. None of the main characters ever learned that Jessie and Jessilina were the same person.  She's also used other aliases to disguise herself under, such as Jessilinda during her time at the Pokémon Summer Academy and Jessilynlyn while competing in the Pokémon Ping Pong Tournament. Musashi

The narrator usually speaks at the beginning and ending of each episode. In the beginning of an episode he usually informs the audience of what Satoshi and his friends are doing or where they're heading. Sometimes he'll even explain what they did in the previous episode. He would usually conclude the episode with what Satoshi and company had learned during the episode or say what they were planning to do next. In movies, he usually is only heard at the beginning giving an overview of the Pokémon world.
